Eighth day of trip

So today I watched gattaca, a very interesting movie. In this time people don't usually have a child out of love, they get genetically chosen to be perfect. Vincent was different though, he was born out of love but was supposed to die by the age of thirty. No one wanted vincent to get hurt so he was ery protected and his perents decided that they wanted Vincent to have a brother. They genetically chose what he was going to be and how he would act and perform, they named their second child Anton. Anton was always the superior child and was believed to be better than his brother. Anton and Vincent would compte at swimming and Anton always won, but one day Vincent managed to beat his brother. Since that day, Vincent knew he was capeable of doing more. Vinvent decided to move out and even as a chid he had wanted to go to space, he ended up getting a job as a janitor at the space enrollment facility. Vincent found an illegal person with whom he could pretend to be and get his dream job at the space enrollment facility. Vincent was never caught throughout the whole time he pretended to me Jerome and ended up going to space.

Personally I think tha designer babies are good because then there is no chance of failure or having disorders with the child. To me personally another reason I think it is good, is becasue his way if you have bad traits then you can choose for only the good ones to be passed down. But that is just my personal opinion and I know that many people would dissgree with me.

Seventh day of trip

Today I am flying out to Australia because they have a uniqu showing of the movie Gataca and I would love to see it. I will wrote a rewiew on it tomorrow right after I watch it.

Sixth day of trip

So yesterday I landed in Japan, everywhere I go I see and read interesting articles. Here is another one that sparked my interests about mutations:

Positive, Negative and Neutral Mutations

Positive mutations happen when there is a mutation in one's DNA and they benefit from having it. For example, some people have a mutation that makes them resistant o the HIV virus, or a bear living in the artic getting white fur-it helps them blend ino their environments.
Negative mutations are when there is a different type of mutation in the DNA or gene that has bad side affects. For example you can get diseases, or be deathly allergic to things, those are just a few examples.
Neutral mutations take place when it has almost no effect on how the one with the mutation survives. For example, being born with perfect eyesight, it doesn't decrease or increase their abity to survive.

Fifth day of trip

Today we are flying to japan and we are still on the plane. While here I decided to read a magazine and it had a very interesting article in that I would like to share with those of you reading my blog:

BREAST CANCER IN JAPAN

Breast cancer is a very serious thing and right now in parts of Japan it is getting more common. women and men need to look out for signs of breast cancer because it can be fatal in a lot of cases. Some signs to lok for are a lump in the breast, a lump in the armpit, changes in breast size, shape or colouring, changes in the breast's skin, and nipple changes. These are the most common symptoms but can sometimes be nothing.
Lump in Breast-->   you can feel the lump in your breast but sometimes it can be seen on a mamogram before it can be felt.

Lump in Armpit-->   Sometimes small, hard lumps in the armpit may be a sign that breast cancer has spread to the lymph nodes. Although these lumps are often painless, they may be tender and sore

Skin Changes-->      the skin on the breast may become dimpled or puckered. redness, swelling and increased warmth are also signs. an itchy breast may be a sign of inflammatory breast cancer and itchiness is not usually resolved by any type of ointment.

Nipple Changes-->   discharge from the nipples could be a sign, epecially if it comes out without squeezing and is blood stained.

Breast cancer is treated by sergically removing the tumor, sergically removing the whole breast, chemotherapy, radiation, or drug therapy depending on the severity of the cancer and what stage it has gotten to. Breast cancer affects 1 in 8 women.

As women get older, their chances of getting breast cancer increases. Teens and young women in their 20's are less likely to get Breast Cancer, where as women in their 50's - 70's are more likely to get it.
